The flaming process can significantly alter the surface of the slab, making it uneven, rough and non-slip.
To create this type of effect, this process treats the stone surface with a high temperature, subjecting it to a thermal shock at around 600°C and quickly using a blowtorch across the surface of the slab so that it literally explodes, making it uniformly rough. Flaming brings out the natural structure and colour of the material.
This technique can be used on stone with thicknesses equal to or above one centimetre and is mainly used for outdoor flooring as well as for staircases, swimming pool edges, fountains, curbs or also for shower trays.
Flaming makes the material safe even in areas where water could make surfaces slippy.
If you’d like to use this technique also for interiors, then it would be necessary to add a brushed finish too.
